ISO Student Health Insurance Announces John McPhee as Chief Executive Officer

NEW YORK, N.Y., Sept 25, 2019 – ISO Student Health Insurance (ISO) today announced that John McPhee has been named as Chief Executive Officer. He will assume day-to-day leadership of the company, effective immediately

“John is the right executive to lead ISO,” said Dr. Jacob Harel, Chairman of ISO. “He is an exceptional leader and his track record of success and high-caliber leadership experience is exactly what ISO needs as we enter our next chapter. ISO warmly welcomes John and we look forward to working with him,” he added.

Prior to joining ISO, John spent 26 years at American International Group in senior leadership roles including Global Head of Accident & Health & CEO Consumer Insurance Asia Pacific.

In his most recent role as Global Head of Accident & Health at AIG, John was responsible for leading AIG’s industry leading businesses across more than 60 countries world-wide. Last year he spearheaded a major restructuring of the US business, which resulted in a significant increase in new business, while also exceeding profitability targets and delivering on operational improvements.

The wealth of knowledge and experience John has gained while performing multiple leadership roles based in London, Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo and New York, provide a unique understanding of multiple consumer markets, which aligns nicely with the cultural diversity valued at ISO and within the international student community.

John will be based out of ISO New York City headquarters. Originally from Glasgow in Scotland, John lives in Rumson, New Jersey with his wife and two children.
