NEW YORK, N.Y., Aug 14, 2019 – ISO Student Health Insurance (ISO), a prominent insurance brokerage specializing in health insurance solutions for international students in the United States, today announced that the company has been selected by Jacksonville State University (JSU) amongst five brokers to be the designated health insurance provider for its international students. International students at JSU will be insured entirely through ISO starting January 1, 2020.

The high cost of health insurance in the U.S. and its unique healthcare system cause financial difficulties and understanding challenges for most international students when they first arrive in the country. JSU chose ISO to help design an affordable insurance plan dedicated for its international students to assist them promptly with enrollment, claims, and any insurance-related concerns.

“Working in collaboration with ISO has been a great experience. Their customer service is quick and reliable,” said Stephanie Marmion-Smith, Coordinator, International Student and Scholar- DSO & ARO at JSU. “ISO and their team have made the overall process simple and seamless both, on the student side as well as the administrative one. With ISO we were able to custom build a coverage that would meet our needs while remaining affordable. Our student can now get access to a comprehensive coverage without breaking the bank,” she added.

“Health insurance costs too much in the U.S. and it’s difficult for international students who don’t speak English fluently or understand, not to mention use it,” said Dr. Jacob Harel, Chairman of ISO Student Health Insurance. “We know how critical it is to meet the students where they are. Our team comprises of former and current international students who can offer fast and efficient, personal and multilingual customer service.”

ISO currently serves 150,000 total members from 190 countries attending over 3,200 U.S. schools. The company offers services in English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish and Hebrew. “We are excited to welcome JSU students into the ISO family,” said Dr. Harel. “It’s our mission to provide affordable healthcare to the community we love by putting international students at the center of everything we do.”

International students at Jacksonville State University will enjoy Affordable Care Act comparable benefits by the time the collaboration goes live. Pre-existing condition and wellness and preventive care will all be covered under the policy.
