Frequently Asked Questions for University of Central Florida

Yes! ISO insurance plans are accepted at UCF and meet the university’s waiver requirements for international students. Once you enroll in an ISO plan, you’ll be able to submit a waiver to opt out of UCF’s school health insurance.

Yes! In the very unlikely event your waiver is denied due to plan benefits, we’ll work with you to try and get it approved. If we can’t help resolve it, you’ll get a full refund—just make sure to reach out within 30 days of your plan’s start date.

ISO plans include access to the Aetna PPO network, giving you a wide range of providers to choose from in the Orlando area. You can visit the UCF Student Health Center, Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, AdventHealth Orlando, and Centra Care Urgent Care near University Boulevard—all considered in-network with ISO.

ISO plans provide comprehensive coverage, including doctor visits, hospital stays, emergency care, prescriptions, lab work, mental health services, and more. The plans meet all F-1 and J-1 visa requirements and include medical evacuation and repatriation benefits.

After enrolling, log in to your UCF student portal to complete the waiver form and upload your insurance documents. Don’t forget to include both the front and back of your insurance ID card, and make sure to submit everything before the deadline.
