You are eligible for this plan if you are a non-U.S. citizen, hold a valid passport and B-1 or B-2 visa, and are temporarily residing outside your home country or country of permanent residence. You must also be actively engaged in an educational activity, begin your medical rotation program in the U.S. at a U.S.-based hospital, clinic, or medical institution within 30 days of the plan effective date, and maintain full-time status as a medical rotation student for the duration of the policy.
You are considered “actively engaged” in an educational activity if you are enrolled and attending as a medical rotation student at a U.S.-based hospital, clinic, or medical institution on a B-1 or B-2 visa to the United States.
Your dependent spouse and dependent children are also eligible for coverage under this plan if they hold a valid U.S. visa and the required premiums are paid for each covered dependent. U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who have applied for permanent residency in the United States are not eligible for coverage under this plan.
