Frequently Asked Questions for Lawrence Technological University

Yes! ISO insurance plans are designed to meet LTU’s waiver criteria for international students. After enrolling in an ISO plan, you can submit a waiver to opt out of the LTU-required student health insurance — as long as your policy meets the minimum requirements and is submitted before the deadline.

ISO plans include access to the Aetna PPO network, giving you a wide range of providers to choose from in the Southfield/Detroit area. You can visit Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak, Henry Ford Hospital, and MedExpress Urgent Care — all considered in-network with ISO.

Yes, you can! ISO plans offer in-network benefits that extend to services at campus health centers and local clinics near Lawrence Tech — just bring your insurance card to your appointments.

After enrolling in an ISO plan, log in to your LTU student portal or contact the International Student Office, complete the waiver form with your ISO policy details, upload your documents, and submit before LTU’s waiver deadline for review.

Yes! In the very unlikely event your waiver is denied due to plan benefits, we’ll work with you to try and get it approved. If we can’t help resolve it, you’ll get a full refund — just make sure to reach out within 30 days of your plan’s start date.

After you purchase, you will automatically have access to your insurance ID card, confirmation letter, and payment receipt. This will be emailed to you and will also be available for download through your ISO account.
