Yes! ISO insurance plans are designed to meet SFBU’s waiver requirements for international students. After enrolling in an eligible ISO plan, you can submit a waiver request to opt out of the university’s default health insurance plan.
Once you purchase your ISO plan, log in to the SFBU student portal and access the health insurance waiver section. Complete the waiver form and upload your ISO insurance documents, including your insurance ID card and confirmation letter, before the deadline.

Yes! In the very unlikely event your waiver is denied due to plan benefits, we’ll work with you to try and get it approved. If we can’t help resolve it, you’ll get a full refund—just make sure to reach out within 30 days of your plan’s start date.
After you purchase, you will automatically have access to your insurance ID card, confirmation letter, and payment receipt. This will be emailed to you and will also be available for download through your ISO account.
