Yes! ISO insurance plans are designed to meet UIC's waiver criteria for international students. After enrolling in an ISO plan, you can submit a waiver to opt out of Uic's default health insurance plan
UIC's waiver deadline for the summer period is set for May 31st, 2026. Make sure to complete your purchase before this date.
ISO plans include access to the Aetna PPO network, giving you a wide range of providers to choose from in the Chicago area. You can visit the University of Chicago Medical Center, Advocate Trinity Hospital, and Physicians Immediate Care - all considered in-network with ISO.
After purchasing an ISO plan, UIC students can submit their waiver by completing the online waiver form through the CampusCare website. You’ll need to enter your ISO plan details, upload your insurance documents, and submit the form before the deadline. Once processed, you’ll receive an email confirming whether your waiver has been approved.
Yes! In the very unlikely event your waiver is denied due to plan benefits, we’ll work with you to try and get it approved. If we can’t help resolve it, you’ll get a full refund—just make sure to reach out within 30 days of your plan’s start date.
After you purchase, you will automatically have access to your insurance ID card, confirmation letter, and payment receipt. This will be emailed to you and will also be available for download through your ISO account.
