Yes! ISO insurance plans are designed to meet the University of Tennessee Southern’s waiver requirements for international students. After enrolling in an eligible ISO plan, you can submit a waiver request to opt out of the university’s default health insurance plan.
Yes! You are eligible to receive in-network benefits at your SHC, as your student health center is considered in-network. You also have access to additional in-network providers through the Aetna PPO network. Plus, you can visit in-network providers across the U.S.
After enrolling, complete the online waiver through UT Southern’s student insurance portal and submit your ISO policy documents before the waiver deadline.
Yes, our plans have a minimum enrollment period of 5 months and a maximum enrollment period of 12 months. You can choose to enroll for a shorter duration and then renew your plan.
Yes! In the very unlikely event your waiver is denied due to plan benefits, we’ll work with you to try and get it approved. If we can’t help resolve it, you’ll get a full refund—just make sure to reach out within 30 days of your plan’s start date.
After you purchase, you will automatically have access to your insurance ID card, confirmation letter, and payment receipt. This will be emailed to you and will also be available for download through your ISO account.
